Zoom Teeth Whitening
Serving Patients in Vancouver WA
If you have stained or discolored teeth, you’re not alone. Our Zoom teeth whitening system offers one of the most effective solutions available today. And we’re proud to offer this professional whitening treatment to our community.
Many of our patients at Lewis Family & Implant Dentistry come to us after trying countless over-the-counter products with little success. Professional teeth whitening can transform your smile in ways that store-bought products simply can’t match.
What Is Zoom Teeth Whitening?
Zoom dental whitening is a professional teeth whitening treatment performed right here in our office.
Unlike store-bought whitening strips or toothpaste, the Zoom teeth whitening system uses advanced technology combined with professional-strength whitening gel to deliver dramatic results in just one visit. It uses a special LED light that works together with the whitening gel, which activates the whitening agents and helps penetrate deep into your tooth enamel.
The result is a brighter, whiter smile that simply isn’t possible with at-home methods alone.
How Does it Work?
When you come to Lewis Family & Implant Dentistry for your Zoom whitening appointment, we’ll start by making sure your teeth and gums are healthy enough for the procedure. Since professional whitening isn’t for everyone, we need to examine your mouth first. If you have untreated cavities, gum disease, or other dental issues, we’ll want to address those problems before moving forward with any professional whitening treatment.
Once we’ve confirmed that you’re a good candidate for in-office tooth whitening, we’ll begin preparing your mouth for the procedure:
- We’ll place a protective barrier over your gums and soft tissues. This barrier shields these sensitive areas from the whitening gel, which is much stronger than anything you’d use at home.
- Then we’ll apply the Zoom whitening gel directly on the surface of your teeth. The gel is carefully painted onto each tooth for even coverage.
- Once your teeth are coated, we’ll position the special Zoom LED light over your smile. This light activates the whitening agents in the gel, helping them break down stains and discoloration on a deeper level. The light will stay in place for about 15 minutes while the gel does its work.
- Afterward, we’ll remove the gel, check your progress, and apply a fresh layer. Most patients go through three or four of these sessions.
Throughout the process, you can relax comfortably in our dental chair.
How Long Does it Take?
The entire Zoom teeth whitening appointment typically takes about 90 minutes from start to finish. This includes the time needed for preparation, the whitening sessions themselves, and a brief period afterward for us to review your results and discuss aftercare.
How Long Do Results Last?
Zoom teeth whitening results can last anywhere from six months to two years, depending on your habits and how well you care for your teeth. Coffee, tea, red wine, and dark-colored sodas are some of the biggest culprits when it comes to staining teeth. Smoking and tobacco use can also cause your teeth to yellow and stain more quickly after whitening.

Professional teeth whitening systems like Zoom deliver results that over-the-counter products can’t match, such as:
- Speed: With in-office whitening, you can achieve your desired results in about an hour or two. This makes it easy to fit into even the busiest schedule.
- Safety: You’re putting your smile in the hands of trained experts who know how to protect your gums and tooth enamel. Over-the-counter products, when used incorrectly or too frequently, can actually damage your teeth and irritate your gums.
- Comfort: Many of our patients have tried at-home solutions in the past and found them uncomfortable or messy. Strips can slip around or fail to cover all of your teeth evenly, and trays can feel bulky and cause the whitening gel to leak onto your gums.
- Confidence: A bright, white smile can make a tremendous difference in how you feel about yourself.
Is Zoom Worth the Cost?
Absolutely. Think about how much over-the-counter whitening products cost. A box of whitening strips costs $30 to $50, and you may need to use multiple boxes to see any noticeable improvement. Whitening toothpaste costs $5 to $15 per tube, and you might go through dozens of tubes over the years while seeing only minimal results.
These costs add up quickly, especially when you factor in the frustration of products that don’t deliver on their promises.
With Zoom dental whitening, you’re paying for professional expertise, advanced technology, and results that are guaranteed to be noticeable. The treatment is performed by a trained dental team in a controlled environment, which means you’re also paying for safety and peace of mind.
We also want to make professional teeth whitening accessible to as many patients as possible. Lewis Family & Implant Dentistry accepts most major dental insurance, and we encourage you to contact our office to learn more about pricing and financing options.
Preparation and Aftercare
In the days leading up to your appointment, avoid foods and beverages that stain teeth (coffee, tea, etc.). This can help you start with a cleaner canvas for your whitening treatment. You should also let us know if you have a history of tooth sensitivity, as we may be able to take additional steps to minimize any discomfort during and after the procedure.
After the initial 48-hour period following your appointment, your enamel will have had time to close back up, and you can gradually return to your normal diet. However, keep in mind that the same foods and habits that stained your teeth before will continue to cause staining over time. The more you can limit your exposure to these staining agents, the longer your results will last.
